NLV Casino Agrees to Accept Fine over Recent Control Board Complaints

A number of complaints have been raised against the Lucky Club in recent months. The club is currently located in North Las Vegas and is accused of allowing an unregistered employee to work within their gaming activities for the better part of the year. The infraction is seen as a huge issue within the industry, which is one of the reasons why the fine has been accepted by the company. The unregistered employee worked within the gaming operations during their stay with the company which is strictly restricted within the gambling industry. The club has agreed to pay the $10,000 fine in full as a result of the accusations.

It was in August of 2011 that the board discovered that Kristen Heiselmann had been working at the casino, and was reportedly terminated. However, one year later, it was found that she was still working at the casino and was assisting in gaming activities, which was strictly forbidden given the previous rulings. The board complaint was drafted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Michael Stomps. The practice was considered to be unsuitable for operations, and was one of the important things that needs to be taken into account.

The settlement with the management of the club contained some quotes from the club that explained themselves. They thought that removing Heiselmann from the customer management system login, but were mistaken regarding what actions needed to be taken. They had thought that they were in compliance with the rulings, but that is not the case in the eyes of the control board. The settlement also stated that the orders had thought that they had made the correct decision, which was the primary choice behind the limiting of the fine. The fine was downsized a sizable amount, and was mostly handed out for the company not appropriately giving all of the different restrictions a proper look.

The company has also been for sale recently, which is definitely something that needs to be taken into account when handing out fines when you are part of the board. There have been numerous complaints about companies as of late that are similar to this one, but for different companies in the area. Campos, the owner of the bar, has had a number of different infractions as of late at some of his other casinos, which likely kept the club from having their fine completely removed.

Although the fine was lowered, it was still a stern decision from the company based on a variety of different fines that have been handed down to Campos owned locations in recent years. It will be interesting to see if the places that he owns continue to clean up their act. The company said that they were sorry for not following the rules to the book, and stated that they would work to fix those issues moving forward.

Fines are regularly handed down to organizations, and it remains to be seen if individuals within the Campos organization are willing to make change sto their organization.
